Bedside End Table

Plan of Procedure

Planning
  1. select lumber
  2. layout pieces on lumber
  3. cut lumber to rough length (32” – 50”)
  4. Joint- one- Face - cut side down
  5. Joint Edge
  6. Plane face to rough thickness (1") (maintain max. thickness)

Table Top
  1. Rip lumber to max. width (not less than 5 ¾”)
  2. Glue edge grain ( be sure alternate end grain)
  3. Plane to Finish thickness
  4. Rip to Finished width (17 ¼”)
  5. Square one end and then crosscut on table saw
  6. Crosscut to Finished length (17 3/4”)
  7. Router edge
  8. Sand surface

Legs
  1. Glue face of two board for desire quantity of legs
  2. let dry
  3. joint edge until perpendicular
  4. Rip to Finish width and thickness
  5. Rip taper angle on ONLY two opposite edges
  6. locate and cut biscuit joint slot (align with rails)
  7. sand surfaces

Rails
  1. Rip to Finish width
  2. cut to finish thickness
  3. cut molding edge
  4. sand surfaces
  5. locate and cut biscuit joint slot (align with legs)
  6. locate and drill screw holes to desire depth

Assembly
  1. Glue rails and legs
  2. attach table top to rails/legs
  3. final sanding
  4. stain
  5. two coat of Finish
