cut lumber to rough lengths from 24" - 48"

joint one face ( cup side down)

plane opposite face to rough thickness (approx1" - try to maintain max. thickness)

Table Top

rip lumber to max. width ( no less than 5 1/2")
table saw

glue side grain (alternate end grain) and 24 hrs dry time

chip off glue bubbles

plane to keep max. thickness

Legs
  1. table saw - rip lumber to max. width ( no less than 5 1/2")
  2. glue face grain
  3. 24 hrs dry time
  4. chip off glue bubbles
  5. jointer - joint one side 90 degrees to one face
  6. table saw - rip to 1 3/4" (1 1/2") to get 3 pcs. and then rip one face the same to get a square leg
  7. complete the remaining steps

Rails
  1. table saw - rip lumber to max. width ( no less than 5 1/2")
  2. complete the remaining steps

Assembly
  • Rails to Legs
    • complete the remaining steps

  • Rails to Table Top
    • complete the remaining steps

  • Finishing
    • sanding - 80 grits then 120 grit then 220 grit
    • apply stain
    • 24 hrs time
    • apply varathane
    • complete the remaining steps
